Ernst Friedrich, a German anarchist and pacifist, founded the anti-war museum in Berlin in 1925. Already from his youth Friedrich showed his anti-war leanings by refusing to fight in the First World War. Although he was eventually recruited, he ended up in prison for his beliefs.
The museum was raided by Nazi SA troops in 1933, who destroyed the premises and turned it into one of their "wild camps", where torture and murder were carried out in the revolutionary process that Germany experienced since coming to power. of the Nazi party. The museum was restored after World War II and today shows the horrors of war in a small exhibition.
