Yesterday, March 8, Desperta Ferro was in the press and media pass for the new exhibition at the Museu Egipci de Barcelona , Osiris. God of Egypt. The one who continues to be perfect , dedicated to one of the most important gods of the Egyptian pantheon, Osiris. The exhibition can be visited until June 30, 2016.
The exhibition, which officially opens today March 9, has original pieces from the Clos Archaeological Foundation, some of them unpublished to date, among which we can highlight statues, amulets, steles, ushabtis or, as the star of the exhibition, a wooden sarcophagus from the Ptolemaic period (3rd century BC)
With this exhibition, the Egyptian Museum inaugurates a new space for temporary exhibitions that will continue with a program already designed and that will deal with monographic themes based on pieces and documents from the aforementioned Foundation Archaeological Clos.
Attending the exhibition we will be able to discover the fundamental myth of the Egyptian religion from which mummification rites began to be practiced to ensure passage to the Hereafter, and the right of succession of monarchs was established. What the visit allows the visitor is to delve into the figure of Osiris and delve into the mythological and ritual aspects of this primitive god of Egypt, just and wise like no other, in a space created especially for the exhibition.
The exhibition also plans a series of activities that include free guided tours and children's activities on the first and third Sunday of each month, as well as cycles of conferences that will take place during the months of April and May and that will be given by specialists who will address topics related to the subject of the exposure.
