Secutor: Secutores were also heavily armed gladiators, but they were more agile than the Hoplomachus. They used a large rectangular shield and a short sword called a gladius.
Murmillo: Murmillo were gladiators who fought with a large oval shield and a gladius. They often wore helmets with large crests and were considered to be one of the most prestigious types of gladiators.
Thraex: Thraeces were gladiators who used a small round shield and a Thracian curved sword called a sica. They often wore Thracian clothing, including a fox-skin cap, and were known for their wild and aggressive fighting style.
Retiarius: Retiarii were gladiators who used a net (rete) and a trident. They would try to trap their opponent in the net and then stab them with the trident.
Samnite: Samnites were gladiators who were named after the Samnite people of ancient Italy. They used a large oval shield, a gladius, and a pilum, a type of javelin.
Scutarii: Scutarii were gladiators who were equipped with a large rectangular shield and a gladius. They were similar to hoplomachii but were considered to be less experienced and less prestigious.
Provocatore: Provocatores were experienced gladiators who fought with the same equipment as secutores. They were considered to be one of the most skilled and respected types of gladiators.
