Wat Si Nuan is a religious site that is still in use today. Geological characteristics of the archaeological site are classified as Maha Sarakham rocks, about 93 million years old, Cretaceous period. The rock layer consists of 3 layers of rock salt layers interspersed with mudstone, sandstone, reddish-brown, red-orange, with a total thickness of 600-1,000 meters, with an anhydrite layer supporting the bottom. Areas with salt dome structures near the soil surface often result in saline soils. and the appearance of salt deposits on the soil surface (Department of Mineral Resources 2009 :20)

Wat Si Nuan is a royal temple. Affiliated with Maha Nikaya According to the history of the temple, it was said that the temple was established in 1802 and was originally called "Wat Nai" because it was located in the middle of the village of Phra Lap. with Wat Sri Chan Formerly known as "Wat Nok" because it is located in the outer part of the village of Phra Lap. (Set up after Wat Si Nuan) later became the official name. "Wat Sri Nuan"
The old ordination hall received Wisung Kham Seema when it did not appear. But from the letters inscribed in front of the main Buddha image of the old ubosot that "built in 2440 B.E. As for the new ubosot, it was granted Wisung Kham Sima on January 7, 1969.
The order of the abbots of Wat Sri Nuan is as follows:

Two pillars of sandstone stone are enshrined in front. (East side) of the ubosot of Wat Si Nuan It is placed on a cement pedestal laying tiles on the left and right sides of the outer glass wall door, 1 digit each side.
Sema on the left side of the chapel (North side) looks like a rather thick sheet. The pointed shoots are in the shape of lotus petals. The part that protrudes above the platform is about 2 meters high. The lower part is painted in gold. (by modern people) one side of the parapet (East side) with a ridge pattern in the middle vertically The other side has no pattern and is somewhat corroded. There was a cloth wrapped around it. In front there are offerings, Buddha images and monk statues.
The parapet on the right side of the chapel (south side) looks like a thick sheet. The top is rounded and grooved in two parallel lines, the part above the platform about 2 meters high, the lower part is painted gold. (by modern people) No pattern, condition is generally quite corroded. There was a cloth wrapped around it.
According to the history, there are 2 main parapets that are enshrined in front of the new or current chapel. was moved from Non Mueang, Chum Phae District, at the same time as Khon Kaen City Pillar and Chum Phae City Pillar The history of discovery and movement is as follows:
“In 1955, about the 4th month, an elderly person came to pay homage to Chao Khun Ratchasarn Dhammamuni. (Luang Por Kanha), Sri Nuan Temple, the clergyman of Khon Kaen Province at that time that One day, he went to sleep at a barn in Non Muang and had a strange dream that he saw an old man dressed in white complaining that he wanted to live in the city. "I want to go to the city I want to be the mascot of the city.” On the third night, he had the same dream again. After waking up, he felt restless, unable to sleep. So traveled to the city to tell you the dream.
When your lord heard this, he asked, “What is that appearance like?” replied the old man, “that appearance is an old gu. There was a large forest, densely growing trees, and pillars. and a large number of sema leaves." "If it's a mascot of the city It must be a city pillar". Chao Khun therefore taught the governor of Khon Kaen Province, namely Luang Pinit, and assigned the Mahasukhon and a number of monks. along with the provincial deputy to summon the City Pillar out of Gu.
As he summoned pillars and stone pillars out of the Guo, a heavy rain appeared. A lightning strike hit the City Pillar (Currently the City Pillar of Chum Phae District). The committee therefore consulted that "Hao is a little The elders didn't come here, so they didn't go." and summoned the City Pillar down to Wat Phra Non. (Wat Pa Phra Non Phatthanaram) and then came back to tell the story to Chao Khun. Lord Khun therefore went to summon himself. and brought Mo Lam Nang to celebrate at Wat Phra Non for 1 night, then brought out 4 pillars and parapets
