The area inside Wat Phayom is a low ancient mound. Has not been excavated and restored. But the landscape has been renovated in 2006, located in the city of Chiang Saen in the center of the city to the south. There are archaeological sites nearby, which are Archaeological Site No. 25, Wat Asoke and Wat Chang Kham.
