archaeological essence

A survey in December 2021 found archaeological evidence in the form of rectangular laterite stones stacked approximately 3-4 pieces high, total size approximately 2 meters wide, approximately 2 meters long and approximately 2 meters high. The surrounding area found no other evidence. A survey of the Fine Arts Office No. 9, Khon Kaen in 2007 (The Fine Arts Department 2021) interviewed Mr. Amnat Thapsuri, 42 years old, Village Headman, Village No. 22, Khao Khwao Subdistrict, Mueang District, Maha Sarakham Province. It means that originally this area had rectangular laterite stones scattered on the ground until about 1997 The villagers joined together to form a square pile as it appears today.

This was because the evidence found from Gu Ban Mi was only scattered laterite stones. just know that There may be an ancient site that has now deteriorated scattered building parts The shape of the Gu that appears today is due to reconstruction, so there is not enough evidence to conclude that the ancient site was built in any era, but initially it may be assumed from the context that It may be a religious place built contemporary with Prang Ku, Ban Khwao and Ku Noi. An archaeological site in Khmer culture built in the 16th-18th Buddhist centuries, about 2.7-3 kilometers west of Ku Ban Mi.

At present, Ku Ban Mi is the spiritual center of villagers at Village No. 8 and Village No. 22, Khwao Sub-district, Mueang Maha Sarakham District. Villagers often bring offerings to pay respects to Ku regularly. According to the belief that there was a sacred object with Gu and a multipurpose pavilion was built next to the laterite pile in the east. For use in the Boon Song Ku festival held every year on Songkran Day
