(Pung Thao Kong) A small Teochew Chinese shrine located near the intersection. which was built according to the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty and Ban Khamin Canal which is a canal which is part of the Krung Thon Buri moat It is in line along the back of people's houses from Matum Alley through the front of Wat Phraya Tham Worawihan. Across the canal that may cross the city wall and the Thonburi moat canal, the Fine Arts Department has come to work to find the Thonburi city wall and other evidence. from the excavation of the canal in the area of Ban Khamin Canal
Important archaeological evidence (Kannikar Sutheerattanapirom 2019)
1. Ancient style 1
The ancient site is made of bricks measuring 1x2 meters, approximately 5.5 meters from the Thon Buri Khu Mueang Canal. It is assumed to be the dam of the former canal.
2 . Ancient style 2
The ancient site is made of bricks, size 1.80x2.80 meters, 1.32 meters high, 25 meters from the Thon Buri canal. The top floor of the ancient site is 1 meter lower than Arun Amarin Road. The bricks found below are about 15 - 17 centimeters wide and about 32 long - 35 cm. and about 7 - 10 cm thick. The upper layer uses smaller bricks for construction, namely the bricks are approximately 17x10x5-7 cm wide. It is estimated that this is the Thonburi city wall.
3 . Overlapping layer of Thonburi Khu Muang Canal
Soil layer 1 It is a modern deposition layer, found brick fragments, shell fragments, tree roots, modern objects such as
cement fragments, nail fragments
Soil layer 2 It is an overlapping layer of the Thonburi moat canal in the past, found brick fragments, wood scraps, scraps of charcoal showing the use of living spaces along the canals. Later, the Thonburi moat canal is shallow and the canal is narrower. About 10-11 meters
Soil layer 3 It is the same soil layer that is likely to be of the same age as the boundary of the Thonburi moat canal.
After the excavation was completed, the hole was dug and the floor was laid showing the extent of the wall of the excavated area.
