What is the form of government Kazakhstan?

The form of government in Kazakhstan is a presidential republic. The president is both head of state and head of government. They are elected by direct popular vote for a five-year term, and they can serve a maximum of two terms. The president appoints the prime minister and the cabinet. The prime minister oversees the day-to-day administration of the country.

The parliament is called the Mazhilis. It has 107 members, who are elected by proportional representation for a five-year term. The Mazhilis has the power to pass laws, approve the budget, and ratify international treaties.

The judiciary of Kazakhstan is independent and separate from the other branches of government. The Supreme Court is the highest court in the country. Judges are appointed by the president for life.

Kazakhstan also has a number of political parties. The most prominent parties are Nur Otan, which is the ruling party, and Ak Zhol.
