Respect to impress landlords
After the revolution of 1857, the British gave them Upadhyayas and honors to influence the landlords. Among the recipients of honors and awards are Kabir Uddin, Sasaram's assistant, Amir Ali, Murthy of Barh, and Kuldeep Narayan Singh of Muzaffarpur. Through those honors, the British were able to make the landlords their supporters.
Initially the British were very angry with the Maharaj of Darbhanga and Dumrao, but they were satisfied with them later.
