Wat Chang is an abandoned ancient site. It is located outside the northern wall of Kamphaeng Phet. near the gate of Wat Chang 360 meters north of the moat.

Geological conditions

The soil is sandy and has a layer of river sediment sand. Because this area was originally a plain on the banks of the Ping River. Later, the Ping River became shallow due to the deposition of sand sediments and sandy soil, thus forming a plain around this Kamphaeng Phet town.

Wat Chang is located outside the northern wall of Kamphaeng Phet, near the Wat Chang Gate Fort. The temple layout is rectangular facing east with a moat surrounding the temple. Inside the ditch was another laterite wall. In front there is a base of the temple with a low platform. as the base of the tetrahedron building The front porch is made into a long hall. Both side and rear porches are equal. bell shaped chedi The lower square base of the chedi is decorated with 18 stucco elephants, the front base has an amulet protruding. This chedi is a bell-shaped chedi with an octagonal base that is widely found in Kamphaeng Phet. Behind the main chedi are three chedi. Probably built in the Ayutthaya period behind the main chedi (Department of Fine Arts 2009 :73 - 74)
