Most of the kilns in Sukhothai were made of bricks or raw bricks. Most of the kilns in Sukhothai are an Updraft kiln, a round kiln, small in size, with a perforated floor to heat the heat from the fire compartment below. Sometimes referred to as “Takrab Kilns”, the heat generated by combustion is high enough to burn stoneware. However, this type of furnace is used to produce clay-fired low-temperature utensils. (Earthenware) or may be a furnace used to burn utensils for the first time (Biscuit firing) before being used to burn the glaze (Piyawadi Limpaphan 1984 :36)

Or horizontal cooling (Crossdraft kiln) large, with the chimneys and power channels in line with each other to cool the horizontally called "hoods" found 10 stoves. This type of stove is used to produce tough vessels (Stoneware). ) This type of furnace has an oval-curved roof, solid construction, located on a slope of about 10-30 degrees, from the chimney part down to the container and the combustion chamber. The structure of the furnace is shaped like a boat with a hood or a turtleneck. Pipes were used to repair the damaged part of the furnace. This type of furnace will burn heat up to 1200 degrees Celsius (Piyawadi Limpaphan 1984 :36)
