In 2006, Phichaya Yatakaram Temple will renovate the building inside the temple, the Fine Arts Department has undertaken the restoration of the ancient site and the environment development with partial budget support from the Bunnag family. Archaeological excavations will provide evidence of past use of the site and contribute to further conservation design and temple development.
Important archaeological evidence
1 . The original floor level of the temple
The original floor level of the ancient site within the central temple wall was 14 lower than the current floor. The area along the wall is 21 - 22 cm lower than the current floor, while the original floor outside the wall is 20 cm lower than the current floor.
2 . Improving the area within the temple walls
There were at least 3 improvements to the internal area of the temple for the first time. The first time the temple ground was paved with slate, size 43x43x5 centimeters. Subsequently, the floor was replaced with a concrete tile size 35x50x5 cm. The concrete tile was obliquely drawn in parallel lines throughout the sheet. Later, the concrete tile was laid over the top. This concrete tile is 50x50 cm.
3 . Traces of the original glass wall
From the excavations found traces of the glass wall around the original temple. Which is now demolished, the foundation of the glass wall is made of bricks, 80 meters wide, about 5.20 meters from the northwest corner of the temple in the north.
