What were the different areas of a roman bath?

1. Apodyterium

The apodyterium was the changing room of the Roman bath. It was usually located near the entrance and often contained benches and shelves for bathers to leave their clothes.

2. Frigidarium

The frigidarium was the cold room of the Roman bath. It was often used as a cooling-off area after bathing in the hot rooms. The frigidarium usually contained a cold pool of water, as well as benches and statues.

3. Tepidarium

The tepidarium was the warm room of the Roman bath. It was often used as a transition area between the hot and cold rooms. The tepidarium usually contained a warm pool of water, as well as benches and statues.

4. Caldarium

The caldarium was the hot room of the Roman bath. It was often used for sweating and cleansing the body. The caldarium usually contained a hot pool of water, as well as a steam room and a sauna.

5. Laconicum

The laconicum was a dry heat room in the Roman bath. It was often used for sweating and relaxing. The laconicum usually contained a hot stone bench, as well as benches and statues.

6. Piscina
