Did North Korea and South stop fighting?

North and South Korea are technically still at war. The Korean War ended in 1953 with an armistice agreement that established the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). However, a peace treaty has not been signed and the two countries remain in a state of conflict. There have been numerous periods of tension and violence between North and South Korea over the years, including the Korean War, the Korean Armistice Agreement, the Korean War Ceasefire Agreement, the Korean War Armistice Agreement, the Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization, and the Korean Peninsula Peace Process.
