What was the motto of protestant reformation?

The motto of the Protestant Reformation was "sola scriptura," which means "by Scripture alone." This motto expressed the belief that the Bible was the sole source of religious authority and that all other sources, such as tradition and the teachings of the church, were subordinate to it. This belief was in contrast to the Catholic Church, which held that tradition and the teachings of the church were equally authoritative with the Bible.
