Why did the us army turn to native Americans during World War 2?

The US Army relied heavily on American Indians during World War II for their cultural traditions like their languages, the US knew the Axis would never be able to break their codes. For example: when Japan intercepted 7,000 US coded-dispatches during the battle of Coral Sea, there was only one coded transmission they could not get through-- the transmission was in Navaho.
