Labour Movement
In December 1919, there was a strike of workers in Jamshedpur and Jamalpur. Jamshedpur Workers Association was established in 1920 under the leadership of SN Halder and Byomkesh Chakraborty and in 1929 under the leadership of Manik Homi Jamshedpur Level Federation was established. Subhash Chandra Bose, Prof. Abdul Bari, Jai Prakash Narayan, Yogendra Shukla, Basavan Singh, Brijanandan Sharma, Baleshwar Singh etc. were important leaders of the labor movement.
In 1929, the All India Trade Union Congress session was held in Jharia, in which Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was elected the next president. Between 1937 and 1939 and even further there were strikes at many places in Bihar. In the course of this movement, Jayaprakash Narayan was arrested on February 18, 1940 and sentenced to 9 months rigorous imprisonment for his speech given in Jamshedpur. Many meetings and strikes were organized in 1942, 1944, 1947
Patna Youth Association
Patna Youth Association was established in 1927. By 1929, its branches had been established in many cities of Bihar, as a result of which the youth movement in Bihar gained momentum.
