A witty image of Lorenzo the Magnificent
The following is not just any cooking recipe, as it is suggested by Lorenzo the Magnificent.
Evidently the great lord of Florence and our Renaissance also understood gastronomy.
Here is what he writes in Canzona de ’cialdoni on how to prepare Tuscan cialdoni , typical sweets of the region:
"Put water and flour into the jar as much as it comes in, and bring it to completion:when you have brought it, it comes like an ointment, almost like macaroni water.
[...] It is worthwhile, in that menar, cure well, for strong menar, that from outside it does not cease, made the drenched, then taste with your finger:if it seems good to you, put the shapes on fire.
[...] When the soaked in the shapes you put and feel it fry, hold the irons tight, shake the shapes, and shake them to settle down, turn upside down, and hay well cooked and good " .
