Scenes of cannibalism from a few centuries ago
A few days ago I received a report of a book on a difficult and certainly unusual topic: cannibalism in the Middle Ages .
Eating the flesh of other human beings, at least under certain circumstances, was apparently neither a very rare case nor very scandalous a few centuries ago.
To find out more, I refer you to reading the text “The proud meal. Medieval anthropophagy ” (ed. Il Mulino ) by Angelica A. Montanari (I'll buy it and read it too soon), to the presentation as it was sent to me and which I faithfully report below and to the very interesting video which was attached to the email.

A very particular historical essay on cannibalism in the Middle Ages, which perhaps might interest you…
“ THE PROUD MEAL. Medieval anthropophagy . "
An itinerary full of surprises in the folds of the European Middle Ages , which brings to light a large number of cases that attest how men at that time, in different circumstances and for different reasons, ate human flesh:not only in emergency situations such as famines and long sieges, but also as act of disfigurement towards the enemy or, conversely, as an act of veneration and love (Photo gives:www.tramineraromatico.wordpress.com and www.bolognain.info) (Video gives:www.youtube.com).
