History of Bihar Socialist Party
In 1931, Gangasharan Singha, Benipuri and Ramanand Mishra established an organization called Bihar Socialist Party. In 1934, the Bihar Socialist Party was formally established in Patna's Anjuman Islamia Hall, headed by Acharya Narendra Dev and secretary Jayaprakash Narayan.
Among its other members were Ramvriksha Benipuri, Gangasharan Sinha, Yogendra Shukla, Abdul Bari, Karpoori Thakur and Basavan Singh. On the one hand, where he was aligned with the Congress Socialist Party, on the other hand he made an important contribution in organizing the farmers and laborers and making them politically aware.
Even in the Quit India Movement of 1942, their activities were on a large scale. During this movement, these leaders put the burning ideal of self-sacrifice in front of the countrymen. Another organization inspired by similar objectives was Forward Bloc, whose founder was Subhash Chandra Bose. On October 20, 1940, the meeting of the executive committee of the Bihar Provincial Forward Block was held in Patna. This organization was closely monitored by the government and by March 1942, its main leaders were imprisoned in Bihar.
