Desmoulins Camille (1760 - 1794)

From July 12, 1789, at the Palais-Royal, he led the Parisian crowd to the insurrection which ended in the storming of the Bastille. A mountain dweller, he joined the Cordeliers club, and became close to Fabre d'Églantine and Danton, he fought with them against the Girondins. The violent pamphlets he wrote in his journals (the Revolutions of France and Brabant, 1789-1791; the Old Cordelier, 1793-1794) had a great influence on public opinion.
