Alexander Lameth(1760 - 1829)

With his two brothers Charles and Théodore, he took part in the American war. He will be elected by the nobility to the Estates General, but he quickly joins the Third Estate. He is distinguished from his two brothers by his active participation in the night of August 4th. Until the Legislative, he is part of the Triumvirate with Barnave and Duport to oppose Mirabeau. After Varennes and on August 10, he emigrated with La Fayette and was interned by the Austrians. Returning to France in 1800, he made an administrative career. The three Lameth brothers all survived the yoke of the guillotine.
