Where was the Romans land?

Italian Peninsula

The Roman civilization emerged on the Italian Peninsula in the 8th century BC. The peninsula is located in southern Europe and is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea to the west and south, the Adriatic Sea to the east, and the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west.

The Italian Peninsula has a diverse geography, including the rugged Apennine Mountains, the flat Po River Valley, and the fertile Campania region. This variety of landscapes allowed for the development of a diverse economy and culture.

The Italian Peninsula was home to several other civilizations before the Romans, including the Etruscans and the Greeks. The Romans adopted many aspects of these cultures, which helped shape their own civilization.

The Roman civilization eventually expanded beyond the Italian Peninsula to include much of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. However, the Italian Peninsula always remained the heart of the Roman world.
