What did the Vikings bring with them is their ships?

The Vikings were skilled shipbuilders and navigators. Their ships were some of the most advanced of their time and they allowed the Vikings to travel great distances and raid and trade with other cultures.

Some of the things the Vikings brought with them in their ships included:

weapons - the Vikings were skilled warriors and would have brought a variety of weapons with them, including swords, spears, bows and arrows, and axes

armour - the Vikings would have worn armour to protect themselves in battle, such as helmets, chainmail, and shields

food - the Vikings would have needed to bring enough food to sustain them on their journey, such as dried meat, fish, and cheese

water - the Vikings would have needed to bring water with them to drink, especially if they were travelling on the open sea

tools - the Vikings would have brought a variety of tools with them, such as axes, saws, hammers, and nails, for repairs to their ship and for building shelters

trade goods - the Vikings would have brought trade goods with them to exchange with other cultures, such as furs, walrus ivory, and slaves

The Vikings were a resourceful people and they were able to adapt their ships to suit the different conditions they encountered on their travels.
