What were the oaths of knighthood King Arthur?

The Oaths of Knighthood King Arthur

As a Knight of the Round Table, thou shalt:

* Believe all that the Holy Roman Church teaches and commands to be believed, and observe all its precepts.

* Be loyal and true to the King and to the Realm, and to all whom thou owest fealty.

* Protect and defend the weak, the helpless, and the innocent.

* Be brave and valiant, and never retreat from battle.

* Be courteous, honest, and just in all thy dealings.

* Be ever mindful of thy duty to God, and to thy country, and to thy honor.

In addition, each Knight of the Round Table took the following oath:

* To seek out and destroy all evil, wherever it may be found.

* To uphold justice and righteousness, even if it means going against thine own desires.

* To be the champion of the weak and oppressed, and to never take advantage of thine own strength.

* To be true to thine word, even if it means thine own death.

* To keep thine honor above all else, and never to do anything that would bring shame upon thyself or thy house.

By taking these oaths, the Knights of the Round Table pledged themselves to a life of chivalry and service, and to the pursuit of all that is good and noble in the world.
