Ancient history

What kind of cloths did the ancient Egyptians wear?

Ancient Egyptians wore light, loose clothing made of linen. Linen was a natural fabric that was easy to weave and kept people cool in the hot climate. The clothing of the ancient Egyptians was often white or light-colored and it was often decorated with colorful embroidery or beading.

- Men typically wore a loincloth or a shendyt, which was a knee-length garment that was wrapped around the waist and held in place with a belt.

-Women wore a long dress called a kalasiris, which was made of two pieces of fabric that were sewn together at the sides and held together with straps over the shoulders.

- Both men and women wore sandals made of leather or papyrus.

- The head was often covered with a headdress or a wig, and jewelry, such as necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, was also commonly worn.
