How long did it take to build Harlech castle?

The construction of Harlech Castle took seven years, from 1283 to 1290, during the reign of King Edward I of England. Edward I launched a series of campaigns in Wales with the objective of conquering and incorporating Wales into the Kingdom of England. Harlech Castle was among several castles built by Edward I as part of his campaign to subjugate the Welsh principalities and establish English authority over the region.
