Is the word planet ancient greek?

The word "planet" is derived from the ancient Greek word "planetes", which means "wanderer". The ancient Greeks used this term to describe the celestial bodies that moved across the sky relative to the fixed stars. The word "planet" was later adopted by the Romans, who used it to refer to the seven celestial bodies that were visible to the naked eye: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, the Sun and the Moon.
