What was holodomor?

The Holodomor was a man-made famine in Soviet Ukraine in 1932 and 1933 that killed millions of Ukrainians. It was caused by a combination of policies implemented by the Soviet government under Joseph Stalin, including forced collectivization of agriculture and the confiscation of grain and other food supplies. The Holodomor is considered an act of genocide by many historians and governments, and is estimated to have killed between 3.9 million and 12 million people.
