In the victorian times, most leather was made from the skins of animals such as cattle, calves, and sheep. Depending on the desired characteristics, different tanning processes were used to preserve and soften the leather. Additionally, pig and goat skin were also used to make leather, although to a lesser extent compared to the aforementioned animals.
