What do red emperors eat?

Red emperors primarily feed on crustaceans, small fish, and squid. As opportunistic predators, they consume a variety of prey based on availability and size. Their diets can include shrimp, crabs, prawns, and smaller fish like sardines, anchovies, and smaller breams. They are known to ambush and capture their prey, using their sharp fins and powerful jaws to secure their meals.
