Who invented the post it notes?

The post-it note was invented by Arthur Fry, a 3M employee. In 1974, Fry was using scraps of paper to mark his place in his hymnal during church services. He had the idea to use a weak adhesive to stick the scraps of paper to the pages, but it wasn't until 1977 that he and his colleague Spencer Silver developed a suitable adhesive. In 1980, 3M began selling Post-it Notes.
