Who invented tacos?

There is no specific record indicating a single individual or culture that can be solely credited with the invention of tacos as a dish. The concept of tacos, which involves serving a filling wrapped or held within a tortilla, is believed to have originated in Mexico, where maize-based tortillas have been a staple food for thousands of years. Pre-Columbian cultures used tortillas to wrap various fillings such as meat, fish, vegetables, or other ingredients. The ancient origins and widespread popularity of tortillas in Mexico make it challenging to pinpoint a single origin or inventor of tacos.
