* The Second Crusade (1147-1149)

* Goal: To defend the Kingdom of Jerusalem from the Muslims.

* Results: The crusaders failed to achieve their goal and the Kingdom of Jerusalem was eventually lost to the Muslims.

* The Third Crusade (1189-1192)

* Goal: To recapture Jerusalem from the Muslims.

* Results: The crusaders successfully captured Jerusalem but failed to hold it and ultimately signed a peace treaty with the Muslims.
