When did US go to war wirh germany?

The United States declared war on Germany on April 6, 1917. This marked the United States' official entry into World War I. The United States had been providing support to both the Allied Powers and the Central Powers during the early stages of the war, but had remained officially neutral. However, Germany's declaration of unrestricted submarine warfare, which resulted in American casualties such as the RMS Lusitania, pushed the United States to join the war on the side of the Allies.
