Was there bread pudding in Britain on World War 2?

Bread pudding was a popular dessert in Britain during World War 2. Due to wartime food rationing, many ingredients were scares, including flour, sugar, butter, and eggs, which were all essential for making traditional desserts. Bread pudding was a resourceful way to use up stale bread and other rationed ingredients, it was also considered a "make do and mend" tactic, to reduce waste and make use of limited resources.
