History of Europe

Does middle ages Paris university still exist today?

No, the middle ages University of Paris does not still exist today. It was the first university in France and was founded in the 12th century. It had four faculties: arts, law, theology, and medicine. The university was originally located on the Île de la Cité, but it moved to the Left Bank in the 13th century. The Sorbonne, which was founded in 1257, was one of the most famous colleges of the University of Paris. The university was closed during the French Revolution in 1793 and was not reopened until 1806 when Napoleon Bonaparte founded Académie Université and the Sorbonne University (which now is part of University of Paris).
