The American Indian Movement (AIM) was a Native American civil rights organization that was active in the United States from the 1960s to the 1970s. AIM's goal was to improve the lives of Native Americans and to secure their rights and dignity. One of the ways that AIM worked to achieve these goals was by establishing independent schools and health clinics.
These schools and clinics provided Native Americans with access to education and healthcare that was often lacking in their communities. AIM also worked to promote Native American culture and identity and to challenge the racism and discrimination that Native Americans faced.
