Peruvian Educational Thought Collection:Five more volumes were presented at the Ricardo Palma Book Fair

After the successful presentation of the first five volumes of the Peruvian Educational Thought Collection (see it here), which took place last August at the Lima International Book Fair, Spill Magisterial again attracted the attention of the Lima academic community with five new volumes of this monumental editorial work of historical research. This time, the stage was the Antonio Cisneros auditorium of the 34th edition of the traditional Ricardo Palma de Miraflores Book Fair . The presentation of the last five volumes -from 11 to 15- will be announced in the coming weeks.

Before a framework of academic personalities, teachers and public attending the 34th Ricardo Palma Book Fair, Derrama Magisterial yesterday presented five new volumes of the Peruvian Educational Thought .

At the event, held in the Antonio Cisneros auditorium of Parque Salazar in Miraflores, the authors of the volumes presented were also present, such as Manuel Burga, Jorge Capella, Augusto Castro and Maria Emma Manarelli, among other prominent educators, who congratulated Derrama Magisterial for this great editorial effort.

The purpose of this work is to make known the evolution of education in Peru and from it, establish baselines so that future researchers deepen each period and their respective contexts. The volumes presented on this occasion address interesting topics such as the liberal educational reform, national reconstruction after the war against Chile, the debate on education in the first decades of the 20th century, women and their educational proposals, as well as a new school for a new education. All of these topics cover the time period between the years 1860 and 1932.

This is a great editorial initiative sponsored by Spill Magisterial. In this regard, its president, Professor Pablo Helí Ocaña, valued the contribution of the institution to the investigation of the historical process of education and highlighted the decision to have brought together a select group of expert historians and educators:"We already have the latest 5 volumes of the Collection of Peruvian Educational Thought and in a short time we will be announcing the day and place of its presentation”, he pointed out.

For his part, Dr. Manuel Burga Díaz, coordinator of the editorial project, highlighted the magnificent work of Spill Magisterial, emphasizing that its realization constituted a great challenge and at the same time, a magnificent contribution to disciplines such as academic research, the same that must now be welcomed and disseminated throughout the country. Likewise, he added the importance of the joint work carried out by the team of academics that accompanied him during the process:“Among those of us who participate in this monumental project, there are specialists who reside both in Peru and abroad. We are from different generations and we have made a balance of the evolutionary process of the Peruvian educational thought from the Inca period to the present day.”

The first five volumes of the Collection of Peruvian Educational Thought , which cover national education from the dawn of the Inca Empire to the mid-19th century, were presented at the beginning of August this year, during the Lima International Book Fair, held in Jesús María.
