When did Abraham Lincoln say a house divided against itself cannot stand?

The phrase "a house divided against itself cannot stand" was not originally coined by Abraham Lincoln. It was derived from the Bible, specifically Mark 3:25, where Jesus said, "And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand." However, Lincoln did use the phrase on several occasions during his political career, most notably in his famous speech at the Illinois State Capitol on June 16, 1858, known as the "House Divided" speech.
