How many nukes are in The world?

According to the Federation of American Scientists (FAS), as of January 2022, there are an estimated 12,705 nuclear warheads in the world. Of these, approximately 9,440 are in the active stockpiles of the United States and Russia, with the remaining 3,265 warheads in reserve or awaiting dismantlement. The United States has the largest nuclear stockpile, with 5,559 warheads, followed by Russia with 5,977 warheads. China, France, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, India, Israel, and North Korea are also believed to possess nuclear weapons, with a combined total of approximately 1,750 warheads.
