The US Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo refers to the treaty that was signed between the United States and Mexico in 1848, ending the Mexican-American War. As a result of this treaty, the United States acquired a vast amount of land from Mexico, including present-day California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and parts of Colorado and Wyoming.
