History of North America

Were did most of battles fought in northern states or southern states?

The majority of battles during the American Civil War were fought in the southern states. Out of the over 2,000 battles and engagements that took place between 1861 and 1865, approximately 75% of them occurred in the southern states. This is because the Confederate army was primarily concentrated in the South, and the Union army had to move through these states in order to defeat them. Some of the most significant battles of the war, such as the Battle of Gettysburg and the Battle of Vicksburg, were fought in the northern states, but the vast majority of fighting took place in the South.
