Did Florida fight in the civil war?

Yes, Florida did fight in the Civil War as part of the Confederate States of America. Florida seceded from the Union on January 10, 1861, and its secession convention voted on February 13, 1861, to join the Confederacy. Florida's soldiers served in many of the major battles of the war, including the First Battle of Bull Run, the Battle of Gettysburg, and the Battle of Appomattox Court House. Florida's economy was severely damaged by the war, and its population was reduced by about one-third.
