History of North America

What side had more difficult time rebuilding after the civil war?

The South had a much more difficult time rebuilding after the Civil War than the North. The South's economy was largely based on agriculture, and the war had devastated its agricultural system. The South also lost a significant portion of its population, both during the war and in the years immediately after the war. The North, on the other hand, had a more diverse economy and was able to recover more quickly.
