History of North America

Pretend you are reading primary sources about the U.S. Civil War. Which writer is least likely to have bias?

None of the writers are likely to be completely without bias, as everyone has their own perspective and experiences that shape their views. However, some writers may be more biased than others. For example, a writer who was a strong supporter of the Union or the Confederacy would likely have a biased view of the war. A writer who was personally involved in the fighting would also likely have a biased perspective. In contrast, a writer who was not directly involved in the war and who tried to report events in a fair and unbiased way would be less likely to have bias.
