History of North America

Who were the first people to settle in Midwest?

The first people to settle in the Midwest were Native American tribes, who had been living in the region for thousands of years before European settlers arrived. Some of the major Native American tribes in the Midwest included the Sioux, Ojibwe, Potawatomi, Menominee, and Ho-Chunk. These tribes relied on hunting, fishing, and gathering for sustenance, and had developed complex social and cultural traditions.
