What rewards did John oxley get?

* 1817: John Oxley received a grant of 1,000 acres (405 ha) of land in the Bathurst region of New South Wales.

* 1818: Oxley was promoted to the rank of Surveyor-General of New South Wales.

* 1819: He received a further grant of 2,000 acres (809 ha) of land in the Bathurst region.

* 1823: Oxley was awarded a gold medal by the Royal Geographical Society for his explorations of the Lachlan River.

* 1825: He was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Crown Lands for New South Wales.

* 1827: Oxley died at the age of 52. He is buried in the Camperdown Cemetery in Sydney.
