Historical story

How does Odysseus try to avoid going the Trojan war?

When Odysseus was informed of the plan to go to Troy, he pretended to be insane. He yoked an ox and a donkey to a plow and sowed the ground with salt. Palamedes placed Telemachus, Odysseus' newborn son, in front of the plow. Upon reaching Telemachus, Odysseus stopped the plow and thus was proven to be sane. Palamedes then made Odysseus go to Troy. However, some argue that the madness of Odysseus is a story invented to explain the fact that he was the only Greek hero who came back from Troy alive.
