The largest unexploded bomb of World War II exploded as Navy divers tried to defuse it.
The bomb, which was in a Baltic Sea canal, had a 50-50 chance of exploding but none of the divers were injured.
It was 6 meters long, located at a depth of 12 meters and weighed 5.4 tons. Almost half of that amount was explosives.
On Monday, the major operation to neutralize it began, lasting five days, forcing more than 750 people to leave their homes.
The British Air Force, RAF had dropped the Tallyboy bomb, also known as the "earthquake" bomb in a raid in 1945 where it sank the German cruiser Lützow.
